Lake Forest is a beautiful town, and with that comes beautiful art. We take pride in our local artists, and supporting the local community is a big deal. The historic Market Square is a delightful place to visit on its own, and this weekend it will be decked to the nines with art from juried artists. If you’re looking for something to do this Labor Day Weekend, this is a wonderful event.
The Deer Path Art League’s 66th Annual Art Fair on the Square returns after not happening in 2020 with its prestigious local art event. This signature event helps fulfill Deer Path Art League’s mission of bringing high-quality visual arts to our communities.
The Deer Path Art League 66th Annual Art Fair on the Square
Sunday, September 5, and Monday, September 6, 10 am – 5 pm
Market Square & Western Avenue – Lake Forest, Illinois
Nearly 400 participants applied last year, and this event has taken place for 66 years now. The Art League’s mission is to “spark, nurture and enhance creativity as well as raise community awareness and appreciation of the arts”
Monetary Awards are given for the overall best piece, and then two additional awards are given:
The Dorothy Burgert Photography Award
The Anne Flynn Memorial Award
These awards are determined by the judges, and all artists must follow a set of rules as determined by the Art League.
There are a specific number of categories and will include the following:
Jewelry/Non-Precious (jewelry handcrafted from semi-precious stones, polymer clay, pebbles, glass, wood, lab-created gems, found objects, crystals, beading, etc.)
Jewelry/Precious (jewelry handcrafted from only precious stones and precious metals)
There is sure to be something for the art lover in everyone, and all art will be for sale, with proceeds going directly to the artists.
Many of these artists are excited as last year’s event was canceled, so please come out and support them!
